Applicants:  Please Read this entire list of qualifications before applying for a job.

1.  You need excellent references and phone numbers written on your application.

2.  Working in any restaurant is good experience (McDonald, Perkins, etc.)   If you have no experience, then bussing, hosting, dishwashing/clean up or bartending (with the bartending course) are the only positions you can start at.  If you have aptitude, you might host or wash dishes for a short while before being promoted to server or cook.

3.  We welcome minorities.  

4.  I do not hire temporary help.  Before starting you must go thru training which begins with several hours of work on your own time.  It's not worth your while!

5.  I rarely hire people who do not live within Ames.

6.  Are you professionally dressed and equipped to apply (with pens, references, etc.)?  If not, it will hurt your chances of being hired.

7.  I rarely hired people younger than 18.  If you handle liquor (servers, etc.), then you will need to be at least 19.

8.  Do you smoke?  I do not hire smokers

9.  You will be asked how you plan on getting to work, car, bus, walking etc. which allows you to be on time.
